¡Hola todos!
Once again a crazy week. Definitely was good and bad. One of my favorites but also one of my least. That's because we saw a bunch of milagros, but also I was sick for most of the week.
But it all started with our hike on Pday. We went to Alta ski resort and went for a "short hike" to find secret lake. So we started and as missionaries we aren't allowed to use the ski lifts so we have to hike the whole way. So we started hiking and turns out after 2 almost 3 hours of walking uphill in the snow we found out it was not a short hike. It was about 4 miles. Oof, but the view was super cool and the lake was beautiful and it was a fun trip to get out of the city. So it was worth it. But probably won't do it again because we hiked 8 miles total in the freezing weather.
But because of that Pday trip, I got sick. But it was the kind of sick where you aren't contagious and still feel good enough to go out and do things, but you just feel like crap while doing it. So I was just kind of following my comps around like a zombie haha. Also it's starting to get cold here again and I definitely like the heat better. And everyone keeps saying it's hardly getting started so rip
So I was sick until about Thursday afternoon when I actually felt good to go again. But of course Friday morning they offered Covid Booster Shots so then I felt like crap again. I felt like absolute crap on Saturday, but once again me and my comps endured through it like champs and put our friend Elias on date to be baptized so that was awesome.
Also turns out one of our friends is in the semi pros for fútbol. And he is actually insanely good at it and maybe one day he'll be one of the next pros. He invited us to watch him play on the Real Salt Lake high school field. But apparently it was indoors. That high school is insane. There are 2 indoor full length soccer fields, 2 full basketball courts, a jumbo tron, and plenty of room to watch the games. The picture is terrible because the lights are also insanely bright so it's hard to see in the picture. But I'm hoping he makes it to the pros someday
But also here's some of the miracles we saw this week. We have 3 peeps on date to be baptized in these next few weeks, we got 5 people to church and 2 of them should be getting baptized pretty soon, and we found quite a few new people that seem pretty interested. So even though this week was pretty rough, we got a ton done and we have a bunch more work coming up. But the work is awesome. I love it here in SLC. A bunch of people say it would probably be terrible to serve in Salt Lake, but honestly this mission is the best. Especially since we get free food most of the time haha. But I love the people here and my comps. We are getting a ton done and I love it. Transfers are next week so we will see what happens. The rumor has it that I might be going away from the area, but I'm really hoping I stay because we have such an awesome ward and are teaching some awesome people. The mission is awesome and so worth it. Its flying by quick so I'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can.
Me extraña el sol,
Elder Randall
