SLC WEEK 4

 ¡Hola todos!

This week has been pretty crazy once again. But I didn't take too many pictures so I'll try to be better about that this week.

My trainer dipped for Canada and we didn't get a new companion so now it's just me and Elder Boone with our broken Spanish trying to figure out how to do missionary work and training each other haha

But the Lord provides a way for us all and gives us the gift of tongues to preach the gospel so I'm not too worried.

On Monday we saw a miracle. One of our friends from Venezuela, Ana, took the baptismal interview and decided to be baptized. She has been taught for about 4 months with her sister Sophia and her mom. Sophia still felt uncertain and decided to wait a little longer, but her mom decided to take the step of faith with her. They moved this Saturday so it was a HUGE MIRACLE that they decided to do it before they moved away.

On Tuesday we celebrated Ana and her mom's decision with Arepas. A food from Venezuela in the picture attached. It was muy sabroso! But its funny because Columbia and Venezuela make their arepas a little differently so when you ask which is better they go on a huge rant and get super passionate about how their county's is better haha. But so far the Venezuela ones are in the lead because they're pretty good

Wednesday was Ana and her mom's baptism. It was an amazing experience to participate and watch them take this big step of faith and to help teach them and help them learn the gospel. I'm so grateful for their faith and willingness to follow the Savior's example!

On Thursday my trainer Elder Whitman left for his original assignment in Toronto, Canada. He is a great missionary and he had been in the ward for about 7 months and so everyone in the ward was sad to see him go. He taught me how to rely on the Spirit in all things and I'm very grateful for his example right at the start of my mission

These past few days have been a lot of figuring out for me and Elder Boone. But on Sunday night our prayers were answered and we put our new friend Angel on date to be baptized for next month. We were very grateful for that miracle and to see the hand of the Lord in our life and in his.

But overall the mission has been a great experience so far. I feel the closest to my Savior and have felt the Spirit in all things. God is in the details of the details of the details in our lives. SLC is great and I can't wait to see what else the Lord has in store for me here!
