Hola todos!
Welp this is it.. I'll be returning this Saturday to Arizona. It's been great here in Utah and I'm super grateful for my opportunity to have served these great people here.
A few days ago I received a notice of a family I started teaching over a year ago who was baptized this week. I'm grateful that I was able to hear that they progressed and found the truth. Sometimes we never see the fruits immediately, but we must think with an eternal perspective.
I've been reflecting recently on my mission experience and have felt such gratitude for the growth that I've seen. Not only growth within my mission and others that I have taught, but most importantly within myself. I've had several spiritual experiences that have grown my testimony. I have had undeniable moments of the truthfulness of the Restoration of Christ's church. I know that this gospel is true and that our Savior lives. I've always found that statement pretty funny and generic, but I've realized it's hard to summarize my life's experiences into one sentence, so the easiest way to put it is that. But I truly do know it.
I know the people I have taught will go on to become many great members of the gospel and spread His light. I'm grateful I was able to see so many people be changed by His Atonement. I pray they may always stay strong in the gospel. The harvest has truly been great.
The ward threw a party for me as a "despedida" (that's Spanish for a goodbye). It feel so grateful for their testimonies and the spirit I've felt with them. They signed a shirt so I can always remember this moment. I'm grateful for this ward.
This week we have some great things planned. More visits and teaching, despedidas, a temple trip with some converts for their first time, departing dinner, departing temple trip, and a baptism! Elvis and Isaac will be baptized this Saturday at 1pm. My flight will then be short after with my family who is picking me up. I'm grateful that he has made the decision and I'm excited I am able to attend shortly after. God is good
Someone shared with me a scripture in Alma 26:3. It shares when a group of the Lamanites are converted. If you remove some of the words, you are left with "Believe, Convert, Never Fall Away." I know I have experienced deep conversion throughout my mission and have felt His love and upon my return it will be time to continue that conversion daily and to never fall away.
I look forward to what the Lord has in store for me next. And I thank you all for your love and prayers during my service here in Salt Lake.
See you soon!
Elder Randall
