Rylen served his mission during a world wide pandemic, COVID 19, and adjustments were made by the church to allow missionary work to continue. Rylen did not report to the Missionary Training Center in Mexico as he had originally anticipated. Instead he was assigned to do online MTC at home for the full 6 weeks of training. Luckily he had many friends also serving missions doing home MTC.
